Moxlow Makes Return Debut to Pirelli World Challenge Series at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

May. 15, 2012 - Monterey, CA - Dane Moxlow joined Tiger Racing in the #48 Trenton Forging/Bard’s Beer Co./Detroit Motion Co. Mustang Boss 302s at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last Friday for the GTS Round 5 Pirelli World Challenge Series race.  This was Moxlow’s return debut to the series after five years.

Moxlow says, “We had a few things to work on when the car arrived at the track so we weren’t able to make the first few test and practice sessions. Thanks to a lot of hard work by the team and a very long night I had about 20 minutes of seat time during the last practice session and about 10 laps during qualifying to get acquainted with the Mustang Boss 302s.  I stalled on the start having never launched the car before and had to make a run back through the Touring Car field.  I was making headway through the GTS pack when I dropped a wheel on the exit of turn 6 and ended up in the wall.  I’m looking forward to testing before the Detroit Grand Prix and to racing in my hometown.”

Trenton Forging’s David Moxlow says, “The Mustang is an awesome platform for Dane to be running .  I’d especially like to thank Mark Wilson from Ford Racing for his last-minute technical support in sorting out some issues with a brand new car.  Having him trackside was evidence that Ford is very serious about their racing program.  The Moxlows and Autosport Development campaigned the Pontiac GTO from 2004-2007 in the World Challenge GT class with absolutely ZERO support from General Motors, so it’s nice to have this technical assistance from Ford.”

The team will be working hard on both the #48 and #50 Mustangs in the next few weeks to be ready for the Detroit Grand Prix in Belle Isle, Michigan June 1st-3rd.  Follow Dane on Twitter @DMoxlow and follow along on his website at www.danemoxlow.com this season.
