Due to a blown engine during the Trans-Am practice session, the official first practice of F4 U.S. did not start until 2:18 p.m. Because of the delay, the track extended on-track time to finish at 2:48 p.m. instead of 2:30 p.m. All 16 cars practiced, but Cameron Das had an unresponsive transponder and did not record time. Darren Keane finished the session with the most laps at 17 and three-time F4 race winner Konrad Czaczyk left with quickest lap time at 1:27.524. Only .246 of a second separate first position from third.

The second practice started at 3:49 p.m. The teams received a full 30 minutes of on-track time. All the competitors practiced. Davis Durrett pulled off the track after five laps having throttle sensor problems. Crawford Composites looked into the issue and will be fixing the part before qualifications on Friday. Quotes from Practice Results

Jackie Ding, Group-A Racing- We had a pretty positive day. Coming to a circuit where most others already had plenty experience, we held our own in a tight and extremely competitive grid. Hopefully, tomorrow will be even better for us and maybe we will even take home a win or two.

Jeremy Dale, JDX Team Owner- There was a lot of compact track time today, but it was good. I feel we made progress from a month ago when we were here last time at Mid-Ohio. Drivers are happier and that really reflects in their lap time.
