Leitch and Das Team-up to Prepare for F3 Campaign

Inaugural Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda winner Cameron Das confirmed his entry for New Zealand's TRS Championship today, just eight days before the start of its 2018 season. Das will fill the second seat for defending TRS champions Victory Motor Racing. The team is co-owned by Garry Orton, the co-owner of the F4 U.S. team Kiwi Motorsport.

“I have watched Cameron’s performance in Europe all year," Orton said. "Knowing how tough the competition is over there, Cameron did a fantastic job. TRS is a tough series; five weeks in a row, 15 races, you need to be fit, sharp and use your head. Cameron has those skills and I’m sure he will fight for the Championship."

F4 U.S. pilot Brendon Leitch of Invercargill, New Zeland, also drives for Victory Motor Racing in the TRS series. The series will prepare the duo for their upcoming F3 seasons in America and Europe.

“I’m really excited to be heading to New Zealand to compete with Victory Motor Racing and Brendon, challenging myself against some of the world’s best," said Das. "This Series is fantastic and will prepare me for when I return to Europe. Several of the drivers I will be racing against this year will give us a good gauge of where we are. I am grateful for Autobahn Indoor Speedway and Bertil Roos Racing School for helping make this happen. They were instrumental in launching my racing career and I can’t thank them enough for their continued support."

Victory Motor Racing is the longest serving team in TRS. Two of its former drivers, Brendon Hartley and Daniil Kvyat, moved on to compete in F1.
