Jay Howard Driver Development Adds Hayden Bowlsbey for 2019 Campaign

Rookie driver set to contest in F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda

Getting everything in order early for the upcoming season, Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) has added its fourth driver for the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda. Rookie Hayden Bowlsbey joins the Indianapolis-based squad and has already been testing to ensure he is up to speed for the first event in 2019. Too young to compete in the 2018 season, Bowlsbey took part in a Jay Howard designed testing program to gain the necessary experience.

"Hayden has continued to improve throughout testing this year," explained Howard. "The plan was to get Hayden into a 2018 test program in order to prepare him for the 2019 race season as he was not old enough to race in F4 series this year. My staff and I created a plan for him to be ready for the 2019 opener and he has grown leaps and bounds behind the wheel."

"I'm very excited to be racing in the F4 U.S. series in 2019 with Jay Howard's Driver Development," added Bowlsbey. "A special thanks to my dad for making this happen. With a year of testing under my belt, I am looking to score FIA points at my first race and continue to build on that throughout the 2019 season."

Turning laps at several facilities during the 2018 season, Bowlsbey was able to run alongside current JHDD and F4 U.S. series competitors to evaluate his performance, as well as learn proper communication with team mechanics, engineers, and teammates.

Howard continued, "Hayden has made great progress and continues to learn with each passing lap. He has grown so much as a driver since his first time behind the wheel and I look forward to seeing him in his first official F4 event in 2019."
