Ryan Shehan Readies for First Trip to Road America

Team Crosslink driver heads to another new track

With the sights, sounds and experiences from his first F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda weekend under his belt, Texan Ryan Shehan is ready for rounds four, five and six. Taking place at the picturesque Road America in the Kettle Moraine region of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, the Team Crosslink driver will aim for improvement and the front of the field as he continues to gain experience in his rookie season.

“I feel that I am more prepared for my second event as I now know what to expect,” explained Shehan. “Road Atlanta was filled with excitement, anxiousness and of course weather which did not help. It was my first time to the facility, and I was learning with each passing lap. For Road America, I have put in a ton of effort on the sim, watching videos, in the car, and in my physical and mental training to be better prepared. I can’t wait to get started.”

Completing his goal and checking boxes from his series debut, Shehan completed every race lap in both wet and dry weather action, bringing his car home in one piece. Closing the gap to the leaders and continually improving, the Team Crosslink driver was happy with his progress, but not satisfied.

“As a racer, I want to win and when I am not winning or on the podium, I am not happy,” added Shehan. “The competition in the F4 program is pretty tough so it is all about working hard, executing, and taking advantage of all situations. Of course, there will always be some challenges, but I have to overcome those and make sure that I can turn them into positives.”

A slightly different event weekend format will see Ryan and the rest of the F4 grid take part in optional testing on Friday before official practice and qualifying on Saturday. The first two races of the Road America event will take place on Sunday while the third and final wheel-to-wheel action will take place early Monday morning.
