Team Crosslink Set for Brainerd Event with Five Drivers

F4 and FR program continues to blossom

Beginning to come into their own in the 2021 season, Team Crosslink left the most recent race weekend with wins and top-five results in both the F4 United States Championship and the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda. Now, with the 2021 season half complete, the Texas based program is aiming to continue their momentum and garner more success as they head to Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota.

“It has been a good season to date, but I think some of the results do not reflect our true speed at certain events,” explained Sean Owens. “Some incidents and penalties have hindered some strong performances, but we are heading to a new track for a new race weekend and new opportunities for wins and podiums.”

With a driver lineup that remains unchanged from the most recent rounds at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Team Crosslink will once again enter five drivers in their quest for race wins and podium results. 2019 F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda Champion and recent FR Americas race winner Josh Car will lead the team into Brainerd as he will be joined by 2020 F4 2021 FR race winner Dylan Tavella. Rookies Ryan Shehan, Chase Gardner and Trevor Russell will throw their hats in the mix in the F4 program with Gardner earning a top-five result in Ohio.

Owens continued, “It is a jam-packed race weekend, but we are ready to go! Brainerd is a new track for almost every driver so we will look to utilize our team knowledge, engineering program and driver coaches to find the ultimate setup and be up to speed early. We expect the track to change drastically from our first session on Friday until the end of the weekend so the goal is to be ahead of the changes and keep the speed we can find early.”

With some optional test session on Friday morning before official practice takes place that afternoon, Team Crosslink will have an abundance of track time over the three-day weekend.
