Carl Bennett Aims to Carry Momentum into New Jersey Motorsports Park
July 28, 2022 – In his first year of competition in the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, Gonella Racing driver Carl Bennett is coming off his best weekend of the season. Earning a pair of point scoring results at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, a new challenge awaits this weekend as Bennett will look to better his performances at the ultra-fast New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP).
Sitting fifteenth in the F4 United States Championship point standings, Bennett has a real shot to climb his way into the top-ten with a solid weekend.
“I only scored four points in my first six races of the season but managed to earn eight in the last three,” expressed Bennett. “The open wheel car racing world is new to me so I am gaining knowledge and experience with each passing lap and hope I can continue to convert that newfound information in to results and points.”
A multi-time karting race winner and champion throughout Thailand, Bennett brought his talents to North American karting in 2021 with the goal to move to open wheel racing. 2022 saw that opportunity as he entered his first F4 event at the Yacademy Winter Series before progressing to the national F4 championship program.
Bennett continued, “Every track is new to me, and I seem to get better as the weekend goes on. I have learned a ton and continue to do so thanks to the help and support of Amerasian Fragrance Research, my partners and the Gonella Racing program.”
Looking to continue the upward trend this weekend, Bennett will battle the Millville, New Jersey facility in what could be his toughest event weekend yet. Racing on a track that requires precision and momentum to decrease the overall lap time, Bennett has his sights and goals set high.
Set to hit the track Thursday for a Promoters Test Day, Friday will provide more opportunity for practice before qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend takes to the track on Saturday. Sunday will provide two more chances to earn points and better his career best results with rounds two and three of the weekend.
