Carl Bennett Experiences All Conditions in Final F4 Race Weekend of 2022

November 7, 2022 Looking forward to battling at Circuit Americas since the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda schedule was announced, Gonella Racing Carl Bennett battled the 20-turn facility this past week. Ending his 2022 F4 campaign with 17th, 22nd, and 20th place results, Bennett will now shift his focus to a winter test program and to his soon-to-be-announced 2023 race season.

With a quick pair of practice sessions on Wednesday morning, it was a disappointing qualifying session that saw Bennett mired back in the 18th position as he would begin race one from the outside of row nine. With the goal to move forward, a disappointed driver went to bed on Wednesday evening dreaming of a drive forward.

Rejuvenated on Thursday morning, Bennett took the green from P18 on the grid but was unable to make much headway forward crossing the line 17th. Race two saw Bennett gain additional experience in wheel-to-wheel action as he battled hard with drivers throughout the middle of the pack. Not able to finish in a points-scoring position, Bennett earned additional on-track knowledge in his quest to be a better driver.

“It is not easy out there, but I am learning a ton and that is what matters,” explained Bennett. “I am looking forward to finishing the season strong tomorrow in the final race of the year.”

The final and 18th round of the season was run in wet weather conditions as Carl Bennett was gaining new experiences with each and every session. With the goal to finish every race lap, Bennett did just that as he crossed the line 20th to close his 2022 campaign.

“We will look back on this year and reflect on what I need to do better as a driver moving forward,” added Bennett. “I am happy 2022 is over but already ready for 2023.”
