Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Brings New and Returning Drivers to NOLA
March 7, 2023 – It is the start of the F4 United States and FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda this weekend and Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport is bringing a large contingent of drivers to the first official event of 2023. Set to take on the NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Texas-based program has both new and returning competitors.
Eight drivers will make up the F4 side of the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport program split evenly between new and returning drivers. Competing in a full season in 2022, female driver Maddie Aust will be back again as she will be joined by USF Juniors podium-winner and one-race F4 US starter Titus Sherlock. Lewis Hodgson, who competed with the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport outfit at NOLA in 2022, is back again for the start of the 2023 race season as Cole Kleck is set for a full season campaign after competing at the final round in the 2022 championship at the famed Circuit of the Americas.
Four new competitors will join the four returnees as Hannah Greenemeier will be the second female competitor to throw her hat in the mix after a storied career in karting while fellow karter and Canadian Patrick Woods-Toth will also make the move up from karts to cars in 2023. Jesse Lacey, the winner of the 2021 Ferrari Driver Academy Shootout in Australia and a 2022 front-runner in Formula 4 Down Under, will join Lucas Oil Racing School graduate Alex Benavitz and round out the eight-driver F4 program as the squad will look to work together in the masses to better the entire Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport on-track effort.
“It is a large group of F4 drivers, but I know we have a winning program and intend to show that more in 2023 than we ever did in 2022,” explained Teena Larsen. “With new drivers, returning drivers, and some drivers with more experience than others, we aim to be fighting for race wins and podium results from the first green flag of the season this weekend in NOLA.”
Leveling up from F4 to FR Americas in 2023 will be race winners Bryson Morris and Ryan Shehan. While Morris earned three race wins on his way to Vice Championship honors in 2022, Shehan earned two victories and finished fourth in the championship title. Both drivers will pose an immediate threat in 2023 despite being classified as rookies. Joining them will be FR returning drivers 2022 podium-winner Cooper Becklin and Kevin Janzen. Castrol Toyota Formula Oceania Series three-time race victor and nine-time podium-winner Callum Hedge from New Zealand and Formula NACAM race winner Manuel Roza will be new faces to the program in 2023.
Larsen added, “Across the board this year we have a strong lineup. Bryson and Ryan showed that they are real racers in the close quarters of F4 and Ryan proved his pace in New Zealand earlier this season. Cooper showed pace last year and with some experience now under his belt, should contend for podiums and championship points. Manuel is a new driver to our program and has the ability to feed off drivers around him to quickly get up to speed early and often.”
The 2023 F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda and FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda season will kick off this weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, Louisiana.
