Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Driver Ryan Shehan Gears Up to Reclaim the Championship Point Lead at VIR

October 2, 2023 – After a two-month break, the Formula Regional Americas Powered by Honda championship heads to their penultimate event of the season on the rolling hills of the VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). With 12 cars entered to compete this weekend, we could see a shakeup in the championship standings, and the driver who is looking to make the most noise is Ryan Shehan.

Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport driver Ryan Shehan is still in contention for the championship title, just 55 points behind the leader, who also happens to be his teammate. With each win equating to 25 championship points, Shehan can reclaim the leading spot in the championship after this weekend. With two wins and ten podium results to his credit, Shehan and his #66 machine have been one of the drivers to beat all season long.

“The focus is going to be the same as every weekend,” explains Shehan. “To win and to get those championship points is foremost, and if we can manage that, we can make a run at the title with six races remaining. The championship will start to shape up this weekend, and I want to make sure I’m in a good position heading into the season finale once we’re done here at VIR.”

Off the track, Shehan and his business team made some big strides in scaling his business and preparing for the 2024 season.

Shehan commented, “We are very excited about our new Pathfinders and the improvements we have been able to make!  We have been working hard off the track to ensure that our sponsors and fans will have an amazing experience the rest of 2023 through 2024.  This includes our new YouTube channel that has some great video.  We have more on the way, so watch for more announcements in the coming weeks.”

The weekend will kick off early on Thursday with all-day testing. Contenders will take part in a single practice session Friday morning, with qualifying setting the grid for race one in the afternoon. Saturday will see two wheel-to-wheel races on the 17-turn, 3.27-mile road course, followed by one final race on Sunday morning. The entire weekend schedule can be found here
