October 5, 2023 – With the SCCA Runoffs now behind him, Austin Hill has shifted his focus to the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda. Taking on the series’ penultimate event this weekend, Hill will tackle the VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) in a privateer entry as he aims to compete with some of the nation's best.

“It will not be an easy weekend, but I am excited and anxious to get going,” explains Austin Hill. “We have performed very well in the open wheel side of our program, and this will be another good challenge and opportunity.”

The last FR Americas event at New Jersey Motorsports Park resulted in a damaged engine that has since been replaced, and the car prepped for VIR this weekend. Aiming for top-five results, Hill is hoping to overcome previous issues that have hindered his performance. 

Hill adds, “A fuel pump issue in New Orleans and a turbo issue at Road America hurt our results while at Mid-Ohio, I had the fastest race lap in race three and finished in the top-five. We are hoping that all the issues are now behind us, and we can 100% focus on results and gaining the experience needed for the future.”

Set to hit the track Thursday for four test sessions, Friday will feature two more practice sessions and qualifying. Saturday will feature the first two wheel-to-wheel races of the weekend, with the third and final race on Sunday.
