Three Wins and Eight Podiums for Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport at VIR
October 11, 2023 – Continuing where they left off last event, the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsports FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda drivers successfully made eight trips to the podium this past weekend at the fast and flowing VIRginia International Raceway. With both the Team and Driver’s Championship now secured, the Texas-based program will rest easy as they shift their focus to the final event of the 2023 season at the famed Circuit of the Americas.
“We continue to win,” expressed Teena Larsen. “We have already earned the Team Championship and are guaranteed the Driver’s Championship as well, but we will need to wait until our home event to see which one of our drivers will earn the title.”
With qualifying setting the grid for the first wheel-to-wheel action, the fastest race laps from races one and two set the grid for races two and three.

8th – Nicole Havrda
9th – Kevin Janzen
The first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend provided another podium sweep for the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport program as Callum Hedge turned his pole position into another victory all but securing him the Driver’s Championship. Behind him, it was Shehan who crossed the line in second ahead of Cooper Becklin who improved one position from his qualifying effort to make it a 1 – 2 – 3 finish. Both Hedge and Shehan took turns in the lead but off-course excursions by both allowed the other to gain an advantage with Hedge getting the best of it. Formula Pro USA Western Championship point leader Nicole Havrda was able to keep her car clean and successfully drive to a sixth-place result while Kevin Janzen and Max Hewitt were classified ninth and tenth on the results sheet.
Race two took place on Saturday afternoon, and the finishing results were a carbon copy of race one with some drivers changing positions. Hedge doubled up on his weekend wins and took another step closer to securing the title, while Shehan and Becklin celebrated on the podium in second and third. Behind them, it was Hewitt who improved from his disappointing race one result to finish sixth, with Janzen in ninth and Havrda in the tenth position.
Race three was another win for Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport but this time, it was Cooper Becklin. Callum Hedge led early, but an issue on lap five forced him to the sidelines as the door was open for Becklin and his teammate Ryan Shehan. Becklin went on to take the win over Shehan as it was another 1 – 2 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport finish. Nicole Havrda had one of her best FR Americas race finishes of the season, closing her weekend in fifth, just ahead of Max Hewitt in sixth and Kevin Janzen in eighth. Hedge was eventually classified in the ninth position and will need to wait until the next round to try and secure the 2023 championship.
The next stop for Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport will be a trip to Austin, Texas where they will race at the same facility and layout as the Formula One World Championship over the November 2-5 weekend at the Circuit of the Americas.
