Hometown Hero Ryan Shehan Heads into the FR Americas Season Finale at Circuit of the Americas with the Championship on the Line

October 31, 2023 – The FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda heads to the final destination on the 2023 schedule this weekend, the much-anticipated season finale at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport has not one but three drivers running for the 2023 driver championships, including hometown hero Ryan Shehan.

With just 51 points separating the current points leader and Shehan in second place, the Austin-native must have a near-flawless weekend to clinch the championship title. Shehan’s complete catalog of accomplishments this season includes two wins, ten second-place finishes, one third-place result, and an additional top-five finish.

“I’m very much looking forward to the race this weekend,” explained Shehan. “It’s my hometown race and the FR Americas season finale, so a lot is on the line. The competition is tough, but the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport team and I will do what we always do: keep the pressure on and aim for the top spot on the podium. Overall, the team and I have accomplished a lot this year, and it’s an effort to be proud of, but everyone dreams of that championship title, and it would be great if we can clinch it at the last minute.”

Although the weekend will start and end earlier than most other races this season, the finale will still feature the regular three-round race schedule, with two races taking part on Friday and the final battle of the season on Saturday morning. The entire weekend schedule can be found HERE. You can tune into the live stream for all three races at YouTube.com/speedtourtv/streams.
