Kiwi Motorsport Heads to VIR for Penultimate Event

September 17, 2025 – Kiwi Motorsport is set for an all-important weekend as the team prepares for the penultimate event of the FR Americas Championship, F4 U.S. Championship, and Ligier Junior Formula Championship (JFC) at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). The historic 3.27-mile road course is renowned for its flowing esses, fast straights, and challenging technical sections, making it a true test for the Kiwi Motorsport driver lineup.
In the FR Americas Championship, Kiwi Motorsport will bring a strong four-car lineup: Jett Bowling, Bruno Ribeiro, Nicolas Ambiado, and Masters class driver Kevin Janzen. Ribeiro currently leads the championship standings by just four points over Ambiado in second, while Bowling sits close behind in fourth, keeping Kiwi firmly in control of the title fight heading into the final two rounds. With the Team Championship already in their possession for 2025, the focus shifts to ensuring a sweep of the titles with the Drivers’ Championship on the line.
The team will also field three drivers in the F4 U.S. Championship: Cooper Shipman, Clemente Huerta, and Oliver Savoie. Shipman enters the weekend as the points leader, looking to extend his advantage on a circuit that rewards consistency and racecraft.
In the Ligier Junior Formula Championship (JFC), Kiwi Motorsport will campaign a single entry with rookie driver Zach Fourie of South Africa. Fourie has been making steady progress throughout his debut season and aims to take another step forward at VIR.
“This is one of the most critical weekends of the season,” explained Kiwi Motorsport co-owner Teena Larsen. “We have already earned the FR Americas Team Championship, but the F4 and JFC titles will go down to the wire. VIR is a circuit that challenges drivers at every corner, and the margins are incredibly tight in all three championships. We’re proud to see our drivers at the top of the standings in FR and F4, and we’re confident that if we keep our focus, we can leave VIR in a strong position heading into the finale.”
The weekend begins with testing on Thursday, followed by a single practice session and qualifying on Friday. Each class will see Race One on Saturday and Race Two on Sunday. Fans can catch all the action live on the SpeedTourTV YouTube channel, with live timing available through the Race Monitor app.
