Alex Popow Secures Pole Position at Barber Motorsports Park

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (October 17, 2025) - Alex Popow will lead the field to the waving green flag when Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) kicks off their Barber SpeedTour weekend tomorrow. The fastest car all day, Popow (No. 55 Dr. Michael Thompson MS DDS PPLS / MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422) led both practices and qualifying at Barber Motorsports Park on Friday. In qualifying, he held more than a one-second advantage over the rest of the field, including second-place starter Zach Fourie (No. 15 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422), who is making his F4 U.S. debut this weekend.

Popow is in a fierce battle for the Vice Champion title with third-place starter Kekai Hauanio (No. 29 N-E-Where Transport / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F422). Hauanio posted the second-fastest lap in qualifying, but after causing a stoppage in the session, the Crosslink Motorsport driver had his fastest lap time deleted.
