Kiwi Motorsport Set to Launch 2026 FR Americas Campaign at NOLA Motorsports Park

April 6, 2026 – Kiwi Motorsport is set to begin its 2026 campaign in the Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) this weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park, fielding a two-car lineup featuring a returning standout and an exciting rookie. With drivers in FR Americas, Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) and Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC), Kiwi Motorsport is looking to dominate.
Cooper Shipman returns to the team following a dominant championship-winning season in F4 U.S. last season. Shipman made a strong impression in his FR Americas debut at the final round of 2025 at Barber Motorsports Park, where he secured a third-place finish. He also gained valuable international experience during the offseason, competing in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship, where he earned a podium finish and was recognized as the series’ most improved driver.
Joining him is Harbir Dass, who steps up to FR Americas competition after a successful run in Ligier JFC. Dass was a consistent front-runner in the series last season, finishing fourth overall and securing five podium finishes, establishing himself as a strong prospect as he transitions into the next level of open-wheel racing.
“We are very excited to start the season at NOLA with Cooper and Harbir. Cooper has already shown what he is capable of at this level, and his experience will be a big asset as we look to be competitive right away,” Team owner Teena Larsen explained as she is optimistic of a successful 2026 season. “Harbir has proven himself as a front-runner in Ligier JFC, and we are looking forward to seeing him take this next step. The goal this weekend is to execute cleanly, learn as much as possible, and position ourselves well for the season ahead.”
With a strong mix of proven performance and emerging talent, Kiwi Motorsport enters the 2026 FR Americas season opener focused on delivering competitive results and building momentum from the very first round.
The race weekend will begin Thursday with official testing, followed by two additional test sessions and qualifying on Friday. Saturday will feature a doubleheader race day, with two races on the schedule, while Sunday will conclude the event with one final race.
