Racing America at Indianapolis featuring FR Americas

FR Americas Hits The Bricks
Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) returns to the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) for its fourth event of 2026. The backdrop for so many iconic races, the Brickyard reigns supreme on many racers' bucket lists. For the up-and-coming drivers in FR Americas, it’s more than just an event—it’s another step closer to living their dream of one day crossing the famed Yard of Bricks in the Indianapolis 500. Spectator gates for the Racing America at Indianapolis Motor Speedway weekend are open Saturday and Sunday, and admission for kids ages 15 and under is free with a paying adult. Join us for two full days of racing, open paddocks, pit lane fan walks, the Hagerty Cars & Caffeine Car Show powered by Gearhead Coffee and more. Tickets are available at RacingAmericaTickets.com.

Home Race for Luke Powers
Racing at home is special anywhere, but it’s especially special when your home track is the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Fishers, Ind. native Luke Powers (No. 5 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS F3) will be making his first start at IMS this weekend while driving for Brownsburg, Ind.-based Toney Driver Development. A multi-disciplined athlete, Powers missed the FR Americas races at Mid-Ohio, as he competed as a Forward with Hamilton Southeastern High School’s Varsity Boys Basketball team in their big summer tournament. At just 16 years old, the high school sophomore is the youngest driver in the FR Americas field.

Who Will Win the $100k?
FR Americas will officially pass the halfway point of their 2026 season this weekend at IMS, contesting Rounds 9, 10 and 11 of their 21-race season. Pressure continues to build with a $100,000 cash prize on the line for the eventual driver champion, while the Vice Champion will receive $20,000 and the Third-Place Champion pockets $10,000.

Evagoras Papasavvas (No. 71 Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) currently tops the standings after winning at least one race during each of the three event weekends to date. With 118.5 points, he has a 31-point margin on the hornets’ nest that is fighting for second in the standings. With just five and a half points separating second through fifth, the standings are another reminder of how tight the competition has been this season.

With two wins this season, Brady Golan (No. 40 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS F3) ranks second, holding just a half-point advantage over 2025 Formula 4 United States (F4 U.S.) Champion Cooper Shipman (No. 10 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3), who has been a regular on the podium while scoring one win. Christian Bogle (No. 7 Pelican Energy Consultants / Toney Driver Development Ligier JS F3) ranks third with three podiums to date, while Mid-Ohio winner Kekai Hauanio (No. 29 N-E-Where Transport / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) rounds out the top five.

Walk the Yard of Bricks on Pit Lane
Fans are invited to join the drivers of FR Americas on pit lane for an exclusive pre-race fan walk leading into Race 1 on Saturday afternoon. Open to all spectators, fans can enter pit lane through the gates at Gasoline Alley or near the Pagoda at 12:35 p.m. on Saturday to walk across the Yard of Bricks, meet the drivers, collect autographs and see the cars just minutes before the lights go out for the standing start. A limited-edition series poster will be distributed at the event.

Celebrate Dad with a Day at the Track
Father-son and father-daughter duos will be out in full force this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as the Racing America weekend once again coincides with Father’s Day. There’s no better setting to celebrate the unique bond between dads and their kids than in a sport where that relationship often takes center stage. From team owners and managers like Atlantic Racing Team’s Ingo and Lucas Strackerjan or Crosslink Motorsports’ Gill and Austin Kaszuba, to the dedicated dads turning wrenches in the paddock to prep their kid’s car—motorsport has long been a family affair. FR Americas invites everyone at IMS this weekend to join in the celebration by tagging @FRAmericas on Instagram. Show us how you’re spending Father’s Day at the track with your dad, and your post could be featured in our Instagram story.

Getting Ahead with Ganassi Affiliation
Competing as Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) development drivers through CGR’s affiliation with Kiwi Motorsport, Cooper Shipman (No. 10 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) and Harbir Dass (No. 9 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) will reap the benefits of the relationship as they prepare for this weekend’s races at IMS. The two FR Americas rookies spent time on CGR’s simulator on Wednesday afternoon, learning the track and working with their race engineer Steven Giles to prepare for the weekend. Six-time winners of the Indianapolis 500, the CGR team also knows a thing or two about the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, having captured five victories on the Grand Prix circuit.

Racing in Speedway
This weekend’s race will have Crosslink Motorsports just down the street from their INDYCAR partner, AJ Foyt Racing. Earlier this year, Dallas-based Crosslink Motorsports announced their alliance with Speedway, Ind.-based AJ Foyt Racing in a deal that positions Crosslink Motorsports as a driver development program for AJ Foyt Racing, providing aspiring drivers with a structured ladder that includes all three of Racing America’s Formula Ladder series, spanning from the Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC) all the way up to the NTT INDYCAR Series.

Hauanio’s Ladder Progression Results in FR Americas Win
Over the last few seasons, Kekai Hauanio (No. 29 N-E-Where Transport / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) has climbed the Racing America Formula Ladder from Ligier JFC and F4 U.S., to now compete in FR Americas. The 2024 Ligier JFC Vice Champion and 2025 F4 U.S. Third-Place Champion, Hauanio accumulated seven wins in the lower levels before earning his first FR Americas win last weekend at Mid-Ohio. Currently fifth in the standings, Hauanio has three podiums in addition to his one win across the season’s eight races.

Brickyard 2.0
Five of the drivers competing at IMS will have past notebooks to reference while preparing for this weekend’s races, as they have previously competed in FR Americas at the circuit:

  • Anthony Autiello (No. 07 Hope For The Warriors / Momentum Motorsports Ligier JS F3)
  • Brady Golan (No. 40 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS F3)
  • Kevin Janzen (No. 24 US Power Group/Data Center Solutions / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3)
  • James Lawley (No. 88 Pentagon Properties / Atlantic Racing Team Ligier JS F3)
  • Barrett Wolfe (No. 13 Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3)

From Teammates to Roommates
Starting off as teammates at the beginning of the season, Aidan Schuh (No. 14 Homes For Our Troops / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) and Kekai Hauanio (No. 29 N-E-Where Transport / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) are now officially roommates, as both drivers relocated to Race City USA (a.k.a. Mooresville, N.C.) over the past couple months.

Mastering the Yard of Bricks
Anthony Autiello (No. 07 Hope For The Warriors / Momentum Motorsports Ligier JS F3) returns to the battle for the Masters Cup Championship this weekend at IMS. A proven contender at the circuit with three previous top-10 finishes, Autiello has some serious catching up to do this weekend after missing the last two rounds. During his absence, Whitney Strickland (No. 21 TF Companies / Hillenburg Motorsports Ligier JS F3) tallied four class wins to now hold a 25.5-point advantage atop the championship standings. Meanwhile, Kevin Janzen (No. 24 US Power Group/Data Center Solutions / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) ranks second, having collected five podiums this season.

Teaching the Next Generation
After spending 11 years racing fulltime in the INDYCAR Series and another 17 years calling INDYCAR races with ABC and ESPN, Scott Goodyear certainly knows a thing or two about racing open-wheel cars. Today, he shares that knowledge with the up-and-coming racers competing on Racing America’s Formula Ladder, while serving as the Race Director for FR Americas, F4 U.S. and Ligier JFC. A five-time INDYCAR winner and two-time runner-up finisher at the Indianapolis 500, there are few tracks as special as IMS to Goodyear. As FR Americas returns to the Racing Capital of the World, the Canadian racing legend will once again oversee a talented crop of young drivers hoping to follow the footsteps of those who have made history at the Brickyard.

Today’s Drivers Race on Same Hallowed Grounds as Grads
Just one month after six Racing America Formula Ladder alumni competed in the Indianapolis 500, this year’s rising stars will have the opportunity to race on the same storied pavement during Racing America’s tripleheader weekend at IMS. With dreams of one day following a similar path, today’s FR Americas competitors can look to alumni such as two-time Indy 500 runner-up David Malukas (2020 FR Americas Vice Champion), six-time INDYCAR winner Kyle Kirkwood (2017 F4 U.S. and 2018 FR Americas Champion), as well as Kyffin Simpson (2021 FR Americas Champion), Christian Rasmussen (2018 F4 U.S. Third-Place Champion), Nolan Siegel (2020 F4 U.S. driver) and Jacob Abel (multi-year FR Americas & F4 U.S. driver). All six drivers qualified and competed in this year’s Indianapolis 500, marking the largest contingent of Racing America Formula Ladder alumni to ever take part in The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

A Legend Returns to IMS
1992 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year Lyn St. James returns to IMS this weekend as the Grand Marshal of the Racing America at Indianapolis weekend. As part of her responsibilities, the racing legend will give the command to start engines before Saturday’s FR Americas race, joining the drivers on pit lane during the fan walk to meet fans, sign autographs and take photos.

An icon for women in motorsport, St. James became the first woman to win the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of The Year. Her accomplishments at the storied track continued as she made seven starts in The Greatest Spectacle in Racing, qualifying a career-high of sixth in 1994, and recording a career-best finish of 11th in 1992.

Stream Racing America at the Brickyard
All three FR Americas races from the Racing America at Indianapolis weekend will be streamed live on the @RacingAmericaTV YouTube Channel and the RacingAmerica.TV app. Saturday will feature coverage of Race 1 at 1:25 p.m. ET, while Sunday will feature Races 2 and 3 at 8 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. ET, respectively.

FR Americas Merch Available at IMS
Styled Aesthetic will be selling their line of FR Americas, F4 U.S. and Ligier JFC merchandise this weekend at IMS. Fans can purchase the collection at the Racing America Merchandise Trailer, which will be located along 6th Street, just behind the IMS Pagoda.
